Ateneo Blue Eagles is the UAAP Season 73 Champion

It is another big victory for Ateneo Blue Eagles Basketball Team after being a Champion in the 73rd Season of the UAAP. Ateneo Blue Eagles swept out their competing teams starting from eliminations up to the much awaited Season 73 Finals. Ateneo Basketball team swept out their opponent, Far Eastern University in a score of 64 - 59 with 22 seconds remaining. As to its standing, Ateneo is the 5th UAAP member school to have won at least 3 straight titles, joining FEU (2003-2005), University of Santo Tomas (1946-1949, 1951-1953 and 1993-1996), University of the East (1965-1971) and De La Salle University (1998-2001).

RR Garcia was held as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) while the UAAP Mythical Five are FEU Tamaraw's Ramos, Paul Lee (University of the East), Emmanuel Mbe (National University) and Kenneth Acibar (University of the East).

Mariel and Robin Married in Baguio

Robin and Mariel were married twice in Baguio City last Monday, September 13, 2010. The first was conducted by an Ibaloi native priest while the second was conducted by a pastor. The wedding started at 3 PM at Camp 7, Baguio City with a ceremony called Mambunong. As to their clothing, Mariel wore ethic clothes while Robin wore bahag.

Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco (Melason) Breakup

There are rumors that Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, popularly known as "Melason" broke up their relationship. Jason Francisco, (my former classmate) is glad for continuous projects offered by the Kapamilya Network. Jason quoted that his work as an artist didn't stop from PBB Double up. As of today, Jason is included in "Kokey @ ako", a new primetime fantaserye series of ABS-CBN. While Melai Cantiveros has so many television and big screen projects.

ABS-CBN on legal action over Willie Revillame | ABS-CBN will sue Willie

ABS-CBN started their legal action against Willie Revillame.

ABS-CBN filed a reply to Willie's motion of contract cancellation in ABS-CBN. The network said that Willie is still part of the Kapamilya Network and under the contract obligations until September 2011.

"Gusto naming bigyang diin na si Willie ay nakatali pa rin sa ABS-CBN at nakahanda kaming hamunin sa korte ang anumang kontrata na nauugnay sa kanyang produksiyon o pagpapalabas ng programa sa ibang network," wrote ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio.

ABS-CBN released this reply to Willie's motion after the reports that Willie will start his show in TV5 this October dubbed as "Wiling Wili Kami".

My first question: Since this is Globe Wimax Plan 795 - a "wireless technology", should it be freely possible if I carry it from one place to another (e.g, Batangas to Mindoro) provided that I have all the paraphernalia? (antenna, main globe wimax device). They confidently answer me "Yes", so I am happy. Next thing, 795 is per month right? How come it is so cheap considering that 512kpbs is a little bit fast by theory. Nice strategy! "Nakakaengganyo" is local term. But when they came to my house and installed this Globe Wimax Package, I observed that the connection speed is sometimes ranging to only 230- 300 kbps, based on Speedtest.net. When the bill delivered to my house, I am shocked because my payment was Php 1,346.28. How sad, cause I am only expecting 795 this month. They lacked information during their advertising that there is a VAT equivalent to Php 144.28. So you will not pay 795, but will pay 1,346.28, why? Because they added another "ontime charges" cost 446.43.

Globe Wimax Plan 795 Plan Review

With my experience, I called 211 (a customer service hotline of Globe) and verify my concerns. The customer representative said that Globe Wimax is transferrable, but you will pay 552.00 each time you transfer. (not free! contrary to what they said when they are advertising the product) I also asked for the possibility of cutting the plan, It is also possible but you will pay two months bill f you are not yet finished with the 1-year contract.

In short, they love their "Information-lacking" advertising, because if you are part of the contract, and you subscribed, you cannot get out of it. You will pay!!

I come up to this review because this is my own sad experience with Globe Wimax Plan 795. What about you? Did you experienced this also?

Gloria Diaz Persona non Grata in Cebu

Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1969 is now banned and declared as Persona non Grata in Cebu. This decision was made by the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines in Cebu. This action was made because Gloria Diaz belittled Cebuanos for their English speaking abilities.

The resolution demanded the former Miss Universe to have a public apology to Cebuanos. This resolution was formed after Diaz suggested that Miss Universe should have an interpreter when joining and competing this kind of international prestigious pageants.


Gloria Diaz felt shocked for the Persona non Grata issue. She even said:

“Let me clarify it once and for all. People should have the right to say or to answer [questions] in whatever language they want to say it in. If they're Cebuanos, they can say it in Cebuano. I did not say that they did not speak English,” “If you're Ilocano, say it in Ilocano. But if you're Ilocano who speaks good English, say it in English. If you're Cebuano who can speak Spanish, if you're comfortable with Spanish, say it in Spanish. That's what I said and that's what I meant,”

Another reality show from GMA 7 is hitting the ratings of Primetime. Survivor Philippines 2010 Season 3 or the Celebrity Showdown from the Kapuso Network is hosted by Richard Gutierrez and will be aired daily. The show consists of 18 castaways who will compete in one of the islands of Thailand.
